December 06 Sooners did it again 21-7Actually the Huskers did it to themselves with five turnovers including 2 interceptions and by giving up two early touchdowns. The Sooners had a great game plan taking advantage of the Huskers' small corner backs. One of their receivers had 10 catches for a 140 some yards. And their pass defense was excellent; covering the Huskers primary receivers like wet blankets. I predicted that the Huskers would lose no more that 3 games this year but they ended up the regular season 9-4. The Oklahoma State loser was a game I expected them to win. Actually, I thought they would be playing Texas twice, once in the regular season and then in the Big 12 playoff, and lose both of them. My other predicted losing game was to USC. They will play in the Cotton Bowl on New Year's day at 10:30 AM against #10 Auburn. No prediction fom me on that one........... Saturday night at 7 PM in the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Oklahoma Sooners meet to decide the Big 12 Title. This old time contest will remind lots of us of the struggles of previous years between these two teams. Many times the Huskers would be leading only to get beat. At one time I vowed to never watch that Thanksgiving time game again. I didn't keep that vow. If the coach will turn him loose, Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Zac Taylor might be able to pull this one out for the Huskers. As I predicted that Nebraska would not lose more than three games all year; and those loses have already happened when USC, Texas, and Oklahoma State won their contests with the Huskers; I have to predict, and pray for, a Husker win... Huskers by two touchdowns....................... |
